A quick glance at the property today, however, would reveal the incredible achievement and continued growth of that original vision. In just over a decade of existence, the community of Lantana has transitioned from a mere idea to a reality that exceeds all traditional expectations for an area of residential…

Historic Architecture and Urban Planning

In urban planning today, the art of traditional architecture often takes a back seat to efficiency and to be honest, money. With our throw-away society, why should we work to keep and build architecturally rich buildings, rather than build glass boxes which are common in today's urban planning?

What is "architecturally rich" you might say; perhaps any building style that plays a large part in American and world history. Classic examples would be…

The Four Corners Political Strategy

Perhaps you like basketball.  If so, you realize that most competitive levels of the sport have shot clocks that require teams to attempt a shot  within 24 seconds or 35 seconds depending on the time allocated.

Why did leagues and commissioners institute shot clocks?  Coaches would milk the clock once their team built a lead.  Dean Smith, legendary Coach at North Carolina, maintained a "four corners" offense where his players spent the balance of the game passing to…

Safe Water for All

The state of California has passed several bills into law that will provide safe drinking water to its population. A great preoccupation began to arise when it was found that the water that runs through the state is severely contaminated with arsenic, nitrate, E. coli bacterias and other contaminants. This water was consumed without any treatment by several low-income rural communities across the state, and they had no idea of the level of contamination they were exposed to.…
