A new report compares automotive costs among the states.  According to the report, Texans spend more on car expenses than every state save Connecticut.

I was not surprised to learn that Texans spend more on car expenses than almost every state.  We are a big state, and many people commute a long way to their places of work.  Many Texans like the wide open spaces and land availability that is farther out from the urban center.  It was interesting to note that 4 of the top 10 cities that spent the most were located in Texas:  Dallas, Plano, Houston, and Austin. Texans like the independence and freedom that driving one's own car affords.  While we may be polluting our air, we are pumping money into the economy:) and our cars...
