School shootings and killings are a problem just arising if we don’t stop it. Even just 10 years ago you would be able to count the about of schools killings. Today in 2014 they are happening every week. Just yesterday, April 28th, a 16 year old girl from Connecticut was killed. A boy stabbed her multiple times in the stairwell because she said no to him asking her to prom. An innocent teenage girl died because she didn’t like a boy who wanted her to like him. The boy was so angry that he shoved her down the stairs before cutting her multiple times. Since this is happening so much today teens think it is okay. If a boyfriend breaks up with you or doesn’t like you it is an automatic thought for teenagers to self-harm. In some cases like this one student goes as far as to hurt others as well. These situations happen every day. Not too far from the school another shooting happened last year in Newtown. This is a huge current event going on and needs to be addressed by the government because it has gotten worse over the years. Maybe a solution could be a stronger punishment and stronger prevention plans.

Its heartbreaking. We all say, "how could the world come to this?" But ultimately it's just an issue we need to address both through the government and biblical speaking. I always think, "if this happened in the Bible days, how could Jesus/the disciples have handled it?" Punishment and awareness are both great ways. Even like, what if there were school wide accountability partners? Everyone kept an eye on everyone? Maybe if there was  a sense of community. Ultimately we will never be able to stop "bad" people, or people who intend to do evil no matter what it takes.

I have a friend in Colorado whose daughter was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. They had a restraining order against him, but of course, a restraining order is just a piece of paper. The same thing happened to my Boss's grandaughter over ten years ago. The family had a restraining order on the ex-boyfriend, and the day after Christmas they found her cut up into 56 pieces! She was only 15 years old.
With all the violence on television, I don't think a day goes by that we don't watch someone die, or get murdered right in our own living room, just too much violence on television. In the beginning we were shocked at the violence. Now, we have become calloused to the violence. We just accept it! My question is WHY?
