For this current event I read about an event that is more global. It isn’t right here in America exactly, but similar events happen here too. About 20 years ago 1 million Rwanda people were killed. Everyone remembers hearing about the Hutus and the Tutsis, which are two groups who are against each other. They have been fighting for years over social class and wealth. The life expectancy has doubled in the past 20 years, which is incredible. I choose this article because the title said, “Twenty years after violence tore it apart, Rwanda prospers.” This caught my attention because when I was in 6th grade my class did a project on Rwanda, but the event was still going on. People were still dying and Rwanda was still torn apart. I would have addressed this problem by getting someone to stop the Hutus and Tutsis leaders. I would also stop this by sending missionaries to help them in their time of need, while getting to share Jesus with them. Faith can inform my response because when the citizens on Rwanda come to know Jesus, some people will be protected because of the Lords hand on them and others will have a changed heart to stop killing.
