Lenny Dykstra Comments on HGH Use During MLB Career

Former Major League Baseball player, Lenny Dykstra, was interviewed Tuesday about

his lifestyle during his baseball career. Lenny was quoted saying, “I put HGH in my cereal. It

was in my cereal.” He went on to talk about that the reason he took HGH and other drugs was to

get a big money contract. Lenny wanted the money more than he cared about his legacy. This

shows how corrupt baseball can be. The MLB does not catch these performance enhancing drug

users until they have had success and a major contract. This is one example of many of how

baseball players are sacrificing their legacy to get the most money they can receive. If these

baseball players get caught, they do not have to give back any of their money so at the end of the

day, most baseball players will want the money for themselves and family and will do anything

to get it.

While I do agree that there are some players that take steroids to become a dominant force, I disagree that they do it solely for the money. Barry Bonds did not take steroids so he could make 25 million more dollars, he did it so that he could break the all time home run record. Roger Clemens took steroids to be the best pitcher in the game. In today's sports, professional athletes (especially in the MLB) get drug tested throughout the season, so taking steroids or anything banned is almost impossible to do without getting caught. I do believe that people like Lenny Dykstra took steroids for the sole purpose of more money, but I would not say that a majority of steroid users do it for that same reason.
