I was looking through an article posted by the Dallas Morning News dealing with the Bishop Arts District and how crucial it is to the life of all types of Dallas residents. In the post it says, "In a city that lacks enough public spaces for Dallas' salad bowl of peoples to gather, the district is a wonderful exception." I think this is really interesting because I have lived in Dallas all my life. While I am in a great big city, I have to say that I have always lived in the "bubble" right around Highland Park and the White Rock Lake area. I didn't realize this really until I actually visited the Arts District a couple years ago. There is so much more flavor and richness in this area than in other parts of this large city. I was stunned, overwhelmed, and so pleased with the experience I had there. The atmosphere is so organic and really can be a great place for ANYONE with any different interest. This post on Dallas News also talks about how there are the same chain shopping spots all over the country these days in every city. I have to say, as a girl, it is great to have places like the Arts District with authentic shops and boutiques. It truly does make the shopping experience more than just an outing; it's an adventure. This was a good article that gives credit to an underrated Dallas destination!
