Many people have been affected by the storms in Texas and Florida which has caused homes to be destroyed and buildings to be flooded. Now begins the rebuilding process, however , these states need to not only rebuild but also focus on preparing for the next time something like this happens. The infrastructure of roads, bridges, pipes, drains and power grids need to be modernized because they are decades old and failure to do so can lead to bigger problems in the future.

A modernized resilient infrastructure would be systems that are able to withstand the destruction climate change causes. They should also serve everybody in the community because natural disasters effect lower income families and houses the most. In this rebuilding process there also needs to be smart planning because every city has their own vulnerabilities so cities need to learn from the past and plan their cities so that natural disasters are not has affective.

Gregory,

I totally agree with you, a disaster like Houston or Florida have devasted not only the economy but homes and families. I believe as you said that the government should be smart planning and all the process that involves this. I think people start helping at the beginning but after a month or so we/they forget and people still suffer. I think rebuilding a whole situation like this, takes months or maybe more than a year to complete the restoration process. I believe that having good leaders and the right tools takes you to success. Thank you for sharing this!
