A few months ago, there was a very influential film to be remade by Taiwan. The film is “The Crucible”. The film has influenced the laws of Korea. The film tells the story is at a school for disabled people. The principals and teachers sexual abuse and abuse of minor children with disabilities for a long time. When the principal and teacher were told, they eventually went unpunished. The two-thirds of the story is the investigation after the evidence collection and court debate scenes. These episodes tell that the seemingly formal judicial process, finally come to an absurd judgment. In reality, Gwangju Renhe deaf and deaf special education school abuse and sexual abuse disabled student events occurred in 2000. The principal and the teacher are more than ten criminals. They impair violence or sexual abuse, victims of the age range of students 7-20 years old. Resulting in a large number of victims being abused, sexually assaulted, or even dead. Because the law is not perfect, the parties basically did not be punished. In September 2011, when the film was released. This case finally was taken seriously. On the 37th day of the release of the film, the South Korean parliament passed by 207 votes, with one abstention overwhelmingly through the "sexual abuse prevention amendment", also known as the "Law of Crucible". A month after the film, Gwangju Private Hearing School was canceled social welfare permit, the school was closed, received by the Gwangju government, paid $ 5.7 billion in the corporate property for the disabled, and set up a national special school.
The laws and regulations of a country should protect the rights of all people. Because of the imperfect law and the loopholes in law enforcement. Many innocent victims can not get a fair trial. In this event, because the victims are deaf children. A large number of victims can not tell the pain of others. Because these children are in full boarding school. Although the school is only four hours away from Seoul. These children are tortured until no one knows and helps them die. Because the legal system is not perfect and the implementation of the process of injustice, those people who tortured the innocent children had not been punished. This is a big problem of legislation and justice. In this event, the most fortunate thing is that the justice is done. Finally, the state has changed several regulations because of this incident, in particular, the "sexual abuse prevention amendment".
The law should make a better country. Although the law always has a lot of loopholes. The government is constantly advancing and improving the law. That is the best thing. Everyone should be protected by law. Although some people have no way to speak for themselves, they need more protected. When the incident occurs, the government should actively deal with the problem. Although the loopholes in the law are terrible. The most important thing is that the government can understand the problem and make positive improvements. The law should be based on the rights of everyone and the development of the country. The government continuous improvement and revision of the law is an important part of the development of the country.
