Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price last Thursday said he will repay the government for a fraction of the cost of his flights on charter planes in the last months. He was harshly criticized by both parties for the economic expense. Tom price could fly for less money rather than taking his private jet for personal matters with the US money.
According to Washington media outlet, Politico reported that Price has taken a least two dozen private charter flights since May at a cost to U.S. taxpayers of more than $400,00. According to his version, he will pay the total amount of $51,887.31 because he said that he is paying his individual share of the charter flight. Tom indicates that he was approved by legal departments to travel with charter but from now on he will reserve to fly on commercial or business class.
I decided to choose this article because I believe that as a public figure you have to do things right, Tom Price decided to use money that was not his. I don’t think he should pay 51k, but he should pay at least 100k. That money could go to education or the people who suffered on the hurricanes.
