Just recently, Vladimir Putin ordered a missile attack on Syria. The missiles completely tore up the town of Aleppo. People are calling it a war crime on the part of Putin. The United States has cut off ties with Russia as a result.
I chose this article because Vladimir Putin is really starting to become a legitimate threat, and most Americans don't even know who he is. He's been under the radar for way too long.
I just pray that he will come to know God and that he can use God's teachings as a reminder of how to conduct himself.
Usually when something happens in the world, Americans do not directly think it could affect us. When something happens in Russia, people usually think something crazy about the country. This can affect us because of the relationship with Russia. As mentioned above, the U.S. has cut off ties with Russia as a result of the bombings in Syria. Russia is an unpredictable country so this could end badly for the U.S.. While the U.S., could hold their own in a battle between the two, if allies were brought in then it would not go well. This affects Americans because now that the two are not in good standing, Russia could do something unpredictable.
I personally do not agree with violence or starting conflict. I would wait for Russia to do something because if the U.S. were to start a war then it would become a worldwide conflict. I would wait for Russia to do something to the U.S. rather than one of our allies. I feel like this is one conflict the United States would want to stay out of. Putin is incredibly unpredictable so if the U.S. were to make a move against the country it would go very badly,
God always wants there to be peace. He does not want there to be conflict, I believe. He wants us to accept each other's differing opinons and come together to worship Him. While Russia is not particularly Christian, I believe that He wants us to treat everyone with respect and accept everyone.
It is crazy how even in today's society some leaders seek violence as an answer or to show their power to the rest of the world. I agree with the United States' decision to cut off ties with Russia, and think that they should have done that a while ago. Russia has shown that they are corrupt. They have been, and I believe that as long as they are under the realms of Putin, they will always be.
In regards to your comment about how most Americans don't know who Vladimir Putin is, I would say that may be a bit of a stretch. However, I agree 100% with your next statement in that he has been flying under the radar for too long. Putin is an evil man and most people know about him but do not realize his potential for causing chaos around the world. Russia is under his control, and will be for the foreseeable future. Until that changes, I see Russia as a big problem.
