With President-Elect Donald Trump's inauguration around the corner, one topic I find most interesting is Trump's loud opinions on Twitter. His tweets cover all sorts of topics, events, and issues. To be honest, most of his tweets sound like they change according to his mood. He is known for his rude, blunt and unfiltered comments, and to some that is frightening. Every time he tweets, I can rest assured one of my liberal friends on Facebook has already posted a blog about it with the title, "This is your President America! You voted for him!"

What I find intriguing about this current event at hand that is shaking up the nation - well more so social media - is that President-Elect Donald Trump is honest. Nevertheless, honesty comes with some price. That is what some are worried about today. Timothy Naftali said of Trump, "This is unprecedented access to the president. The presidency usually has a firewall." He proceeded to say that the firewall has served many of the presidents before Trump so well. To some, having a president that doesn't have a firewall would be refreshing, as we can see what he feels or thinks, but not having a firewall and not having a filter can cause serious ramifications with our surrounding nations. As an individual, his blunt and harsh comments may not hold much power, but as a president, those words will not be taken lightly by other presidents or leaders of this world. Freedom of speech is one of the rights we as citizens of America hold but does the new president get to keep that right or will he have to surrender it to protect this nation?

Proverbs 15:1 (AMP) says, "A soft and gentle and thoughtful answer turns away wrath, but harsh and painful and careless words stir up anger." As the president of this nation, President-Elect Donald Trump should consider these words as guidance before he thinks or speaks. Not only do his words hold so much power, but he represents the rest of the citizens of the United States, who would also feel the consequences of his actions if they go wrong.

My prayer for these next four years is that Donald Trump speaks with wisdom and grace as he handles every situation.
