Frisco's Building of the Biggest Skate Park in North Texas

As a current resident of Frisco that has younger siblings, neighbors with young children, I often wonder what types of parks does Frisco have for their young citizens. After doing research I have learned that Frisco has numerous parks such as Frisco Commons Park, Frisco Central Park and etc. All beautiful are beautiful parks with gorgeous walking trails for adults, play grounds for kids and beautiful scenic views and theme’s that differ for each park. These elements make all of Frisco’s park desirable for every family member, except for one, the family skate boarder. Whether it be a dad, trying to re-live his Tony Hawk glory days, or a teenage son trying to become the next Ryan Sheckler the Frisco parks do not offer the proper tools for the skater’s of the Frisco community to fine tool their skills. Doing skate tricks on park material is against the rules, because it damages the items in the park, which cost a lot to repair. Frisco however took this lack of resources for their skateboarders of their city and did something extremely excellent, rare and very expensive.

The article I found, discusses the grand opening of the brand new Frisco skate park, the official name for the park is Northeast Community Park & Skate Park. It is the largest skate park in North Texas. The mayor of Frisco Jeff Cheney said that Frisco wants to be known for growing and establishing great park system of all types. The skate park measures 47,000 square foot, featuring amenities such as rails, 16ft concreate wave, half pipe and other amenities needed to for skate boarders. The park’s amenities not only caters to just skate boarders but all other forms of riders, such as in-line, BMX, street park style skaters, roller bladders, scooter riders and more. The park also has amenities for the other members of the family who might be accompanying the rider, or the parent who is there waiting on their child or partner. The remainder of the park has eight multipurpose fields, two cricket pitches, a playground a walking trial a pond and so much more. Frisco has truly amazed me yet again, and shown that they not only care about the voters and the tax payers of the community, but of everyone in their community. They truly do strive to make sure every member of the community truly does have a place where they can relax, enjoy themselves and have fun.

Frisco's opening of the Northeast Community &  Skate Park, Is something that is very good for the community.  It allows for children who would normally have no wear to practice their skills and it also allows for kids to have another place to go when they want to socialize with their friends. It allows for children of different personality types to interact with each other.  Its also gives teenagers an out door activity to do instead of being indoors and watching TV or getting into mischief in the community. A park like this could be the outlet that a teenager needs to get them involved, and could even help with weight loss. Parks like these that could stimulate a family outing are vital to community advancement, and community togetherness. Frisco should continue being a leader in the North Texas area for economic development. Many of the resources that they have to a lot to building specialty parks like this one is because of the money the FEDC, Frisco Economic Development Corporation. has brought in to the city. If other cities had parks like this, it could help give teenagers things to do, and could help decrease teenage crime in the city.
